Is300 Denso Spark Plugs

Hi all,

I have some Denso Irdium Power spark plugs IK20, but I have a feeling they may not be suitable for an IS300, I think I need the IK16.

Can anyone advise?

I think i may have found the answer.

The IS300 in Europe uses the same plugs as the IS200, so the IK20 will be ok in my car.

The confusion arose, as the IS300 in the US uses the IK16, US plugs

That's interesting, I wonder why it's different for the US ? Maybe due to their petrol having a lower octane rating as standard ?

Must be something to do with a shocking quality of fuel over in the US - I think 95RON is considered premium over there.

ASI - IK22 is only supposed to be fitted to modified cars IIRC

They actually have the same fuel than we do in the UK. They don't use the RON measurement they use PON which is why the numbers are different.

I thought that the US's "premium" was basically equivalent to our standard grade petrol, and that they also had a lower grade on sale.

Yes that's correct, their 91 premium is our standard 95 RON. They do also sell 92 PON in the US but also lower grades that haven't been available in the UK for many years now.

With the lower grade fuel in the US, why are many of the Lexus engines tuned for more BHP than in the UK Not much different on the IS300, 215 compared to 211 but on the old GS430 there was 20bhp difference.

That is what I'm also confused.

Called My dealer in Poland and gave them my VIN and they also suggest Denso SK20R-P11 as a first fit in factory.

On US website appears SK16R-P11 and nobody could tel me why even in specialised shops ( they also suggest SK20R-P11)

I will get them soon and also Spatk Plugs ignition wires because I go On LPG so this is important staff.

If someone has a Good place to by things I need in UK ( London Preffered ) please let me know.
