I have noticed in the last week or two that when I turn on the driver seat to blow cold air it doesn't seem to work, nor does the passengers. So is there a fuse? Is there a pipe connected from the seat to the air-con that may be disconnected or is there a filter ( as there appears to be on the LS ) that may be blocked?

I have also tried changing the direction of the aircon via the manual mode and the fan speed and can't feel a thing.

Any ideas please?

All I can tell you is that my seat fans work without the AC or climate control being switched on.

During the recent hot weather ive had my seat coolers on and whilst i do feel cold air coming out..it is not very noticable and i wouldnt really notice that they are on. The wife on the other hand complains about how cold the seats get..i guess thats Irish wimmin for ya!

I've tested it the last couple of days and it does work but ........... it's not very efficient :( In the morning when it's colder outside it's OK., tonight I could fell it but temperature was down 12 degrees on the other day - so it's pretty much useless when it's in the high 20's outside i.e. when you need it :(

I know mine works BUT.... if you think about it, when you sit on the seat your backside and back cover up most of the holes so the air cant get through those holes as they are, effectively blocked. You can feel the air from the holes you don't block.

If you get out of the car and put your hand over the seat you can feel the cooling.

I think they're better than nothing but not brilliant.

Well I've been doin' quite a bit of driving this week and have found the seat coolers to work absolutely perfectly and boy, have I needed it this week!

No complaints whatsoever as they do what they are intended to do and I have been using setting 3 on cool - no problems at all.

Mine work fine, although I can hear it working... its not that noticeable... but its impressive to other people to see lol.

On the downside, my driver seat heats up in 1min or less and my passengers side takes about 10 minutes ..but this seems to be ok and reasonable with Lexus Leicester?!

I had a 2007 Passat with heated seats.....and they kept failing......just when the weather seemed to get colder! Apparently it is the constant in/out routine of getting into the drivers seat that causes the problems.

This LED to a similar issue where the passenger seat worked fine and the drivers heater took ages....it seems to be that the seat heating pads or elements start to play up and need replacing, which is not as easy job as the seat basically needs to be removed and stripped down to get the pads out!

I also had similar problems on a Golf Mk4 many years ago and the Recro seats had to be completely de-covered and sewn back on once the elements had been replaced, which took the dealers ages to do as they wree taken to a specialist interior trimmer to do...as the seats had airbags, special low breaking strain thread had to be used around the airbag areas to ensure they operated correctly.

Not sure if the Lexus heating system works the same way or if it just ducts warm air from the air conditioning and heating matrix??? I suspect the latter so this SHOULDN'T be a problem....ever.
