Hi all, looking for some advice.. just had a phone call from the mechanic and as he is doing the cambelt and radiator.. and he said ''the engine management light keeps coming on, so i dont know what thats about''.

and i was like oh right, well it wasnt like that the other day.. and he said he would have a look round.

He needs to read the fault codes, I would assume he would have an ODBII reader. If he has finished the cambelt change etc, he may have forgotten to reconnect something.

when i checked my spark plugs yesterday i took the air box off and remebered theres an air sensor clip which i seem to think i forgot to reconect, lol oops.

could this be it? would the ecu light come one if this was disconected

No idea, someone with an IS may be able to answer that. Reading the codes should tell him though.

Could be the sensor wire on the airbox, but has your mechanic fitted the new belt properly? He has hasn't knocked the timing out has he?

I had my sensor unclipped and forgot to plug it in. ECU light came on. I reset the ECU after plugging back in. Light now gone off. I repeated to make sure this is what had caused it. It came back on so I was happy my fiddling about had been the cause.
