Guy and Gals,

After many failed attempts searching for my answers wth the search function I ask simply "if you have lowered your is220d could somebody please tell me with which springs and where to purchase them from?"

The answer is probably there and i just cant find it...lol :crybaby:

My car now sits on 18's but defo need s a 1" drop to sort out the arch gap.

Any help would be very much appreciated.

I have found one set of springs on the net called H&R Lowering springs but there from germany and I would like if poss to purchase them from the UK.

Thanks

Tango, your a star, apologies for my forum stupidness. Thanks again.

Just so you know the 7.5J wheels dont look too skinny on the back (if you recall you posted the sizes for me and I went and ignored you!!!)

I tried to get 8J but they didnt do them and i couldnt afford any wheels in split sizes!!!

Also one last question? obviously the threads you posted for me seem to detail a is250? I assume the geometry settings/springs are the same for the is220d when lowering?

Thanks again

Exactly the same set-up. the European EiBach Pro-Set drops the car 30 mm all round with Eibach Pro set No. 10-82-009-05-22. If you read the WIM http://www.wheels-inmotion.co.uk/forum/ind...owtopic=660link you know my car has the American Spec springs so has 5 mm less drop at the rear, but 5.65 mm additional drop on the front, and they're also stiffer and progressive.

I have the EiBach camber adjusters fitted to the front as the drop took the camber settings out of specification and the OEM set up only has adjustable toe settings. I don't know if the 30 mm drop will result in too much negative camber, as don't know your offsets but suggest you have it checked after fitting the springs.

will have it checked once fitted, the H & R springs I have seen from germany drop the car 35mm all the way round which may just be too much so will prob go for the european eibach. thanks again tango

H&R springs are good quality, so you should find that the ride quality is just as good as the looks. I used a set on my Vauxhall Omega as they were half the price of replacement springs from the dealership and I'd been looking for an excuse to lower the car and never had any cause to be upset with them. I know quite a few Porsche owners use them too...

yes found the ride quality exactly the same as the standard springs which is good and it has lowered the car nicely.

Sprins from H & R now fitted and look amazing, dropped about 35-40mm...piccies to follow when weather picks up

I suggest you will need camber adjusters if the front has dropped over 30mm as the negative camber will be outside of the geometry tolerances, and the second generation IS only has toe adjustment. Although the contact patch with the road has only moved slightly and the road holding is still OK, you'll get inner tyre wear.

Thanks for the info tango, where would i purchase those from as i intend to get the geometry set up again properly using your measurments to avoid tyre wear.
