Key Fob Issue (all 3 Keys Dead)

Hi everyone

I am hoping someone can help me before i contact lexus and it costs me a fortune.

Called round to see a mate tonight in my Is200 sport (v-reg) and when i returned to the car after 3 hours i found that the remote key fob buttons done nothing, no flashing lights, no unlocking of doors. Being very confused i then manually unlocked the car using the key and of course the alarm started sounding but i was able to start and drive the car while alarm was going off  .

I then popped home to get the spare 3 button key which also done nothing. I have no idea what has happened, the red indicator light on the fobs work so the batterys are good. It was raining all evening but i am so confused as to what to do and who to ask. I have only owned the car for 2 months and love it but the mot runs on this friday so i need it running asap.

Any help would be very, very appreciated :winky:

Liam

First call change all the batteries - same happened to me a few years ago, main key stopped working, and then none of the spares worked, but all the red lights were still flashing.

Changed the batteries and all worked fine again.

If that doesn't work come back and let us know and we'll see where to go from there :)

It's definitely the batteries mate, when the batteries are dying they still work intermittently, which is why they're working now. Nothing to worry about, change all the batteries if you want to make sure your spare is ready to go if necessary.
