Rattle From Inside Glovebox

Recommended Posts

I am experiencing a very weired rattle on bumpy roads, a rattle seems to come from inside my glovebox but then when I open my glovebox there's nothing in there that is rattling. When it rattles, if I briefly press down on the dash just above the glovebox, the noise stops. So I'm wondering what is in between the glovebox unit and the dash that can be causing this issue?

Anyone?

Thanks

Take it up with your Dealer

I had a strange rattle which i thought was the dash centre speaker,

but found it was not that, so i wedged some card between dash & screen and it stopped.

So when the car was in for 40k service i mentioned this.

I have the extended warranty, and thought it would not cover this as it is interior trim,

but the service dept persussed this with lexus, and on Friday the car went in for a full dash removal,

as there is a service sheet ref this problem, so the guy in the service said the Pegs that hold dash to chassis,

are not big enough, so they have to packit out, and anyother area around the dash

lexus supply it as a dash fitting kit.

So far so good No rattle

Thanks for this. Yes i shoved a rag between the dash and the windscreen and it stopped rattling, so sounds like the same thing. Im going to tomorrow to inform the dealer, but i was hoping this could be fixed without the dash being fully removed as this rattle only occured when the dash was removed and refitted due to a different rattle. My worry is that it will fix this one but start others. Really fustrating as the car is perfect other than this!
