Scratches Are Annoying

Recommended Posts

Was wondering if anyone has any advice on glass scratches? They aren't deep but are quite wide and on the drivers side of the windscreen, so I have to stare at them all the time. The scratches happened when scrapping ice off, think there was some grit or bird faeces under the ice which rubbed against the glass.

Thanks in advance :)

I have been driving for over 40 years and only in the past 2 years have I even noticed marks on car glass that can't be removed by anything from car shops. They appear to come from ice scrapers. What is going on. Forums recommend jewellers rouge but it is quite expensive and no guarantee of success. I think the best course might be to pay a car glass guy to remove them with specialist equipment rather than experiment with "products". Problem is the problem comes back as soon as you use an ice scraper.

My IS200 is 8 years old. For the first 6 years, no problem.
