This LS400 is presently on eBay described as a 1995 model, the shift appears to be the Gen1 type i.e. non gated so I asked the seller to clarfiy and it is apparently registered as an M reg 1995 but I thought this model was superceeded by the Gen 2 in October 1994.

Definately a Series2. Definately a 1994 model. I dont suppose it really matters that the date of 1st. registration was in 1995, I'm sure it will state on the V5 that it was manufactured in 1994.

as well as the gear lever,

the style of the head lights, and also the line on the top of the bonnet,

tells me that this is a mk-ii model.

I guess it is a late 94 car, registered in 95, which is why it is on an M plate.

The VIN number will also tell you what generation it is.

It's like mine '94 series two registered '95

The switch on the gear lever is in a different place on gen. one models etc.
