The recommended transmission fluid for the LS400 is Toyota Type IV but mine being a 1994 presently still filled ( I assume) with type TII (according to the label on the dipstick) so I was going to do the drain and refill proceedure several times to replace the fluid but now I have read the Toyota TSB on this matter and according to this you cannot mix TII with TIV.
