Mounting Hid Ballasts

hi again fitting my hid kit with slim ballasts as i have two kits to fit dipped and main could anyone tell me if it would be a good idea to mount one ballast by using the predrilled hole on the ballast and drilling and taping where it would be fixed in place and then cable tieing the other ballast ontop of the fixed one i was thinking if i did that they may over heat because of them been so close to each other and not been able to dissipate heat or shall i just take the easy way and velcro them on thanks again.

I didn't fancy drilling holes to mount mine so I got some foam type double sided sticky pads stuck 6 on each ballast and mounted them where I could, infact one is mounted on a plastic panel and it hasn't melted yet.

I think as long as they have some ventilation space around them and they are not exposed to direct water contact they are fine.

According to mine they are only rated at 35 watts, a brake light bulb is 21 watts so heat shouldn't be a problem.

Yep drilling doesn't sound the best idea, either double sided tape as above, or what I did was get some metal brackets from B&Q and bend them to use other existing bolts in the engine bay:

:offtopic:

Parthiban - can i ask where you got the silver lexus discs in your pic.. with the 3 bolts on it???

also are they just for show or there to protect anything?
