I bought this and a water pump from Lexus Birmingham and they were so helpful, fast delivary as well (more than i can say for Lexus Glasgow !) i did ask the question of do you need the Idler as i was willing to buy that as well but i was told that it wasnt something that is really required and that they have only changed two since the is200 release so advised i didn't need it (Can anyone else confirm this ?)

I would advise changing the idler and tensioner at the same time. Why not as it's not much more parts cost and saves labour if it needs to be done within another 60,000 miles. I have seen other members on here that has seized idler on here before. When i got my cam belt done, i changed both the idler and tensioner. I should have really changed the water pump too but mech said it was fine when he had the belt off.

I was talking about the tensioner with a Lexus mechanic a couple weeks ago and he said he has seen a few belts that were very close to snapping, one he described as the thickness of a shoe lace! Definitely get the tensioner done along with the belt.
