And what a car it is. Been thinking about one for the last two years and finally found the right one and done a deal. 2001 LS430 , Black with Cream leather. 103thou miles. Full history etc. Proper car if i do say so myself. Collected it earlier in the week and brought it with me for a weekend trip , 400mile round trip across the west of ireland and it proved to be a comfortable , reliable companion. Averaged 23.9 mpg , 400 miles to an almost empty tank [i'd say i'd have got close to 450] Problem now is getting it off my dad as he prefers it to his 2009 ML320 Mercedes.

Couple of things i have noted: are they a little but nose heavy? Even turning on a wet carpark the front pushes on. Wet roundabouts are a no-go. Maybe it's the tires? All are well within legal limit iirc.

The boot is akward and heavy to open , do the rams get weak on them? Should the boot pop open when you hit the button on the remote?

Also , the Disp 2 on the steering does not do anything , is it a seperate trip log?

Any comment much appreciated , will get pics up soon

Regards

Ray

im on my 2nd 430 and both have been a bit front endy, the tighter the lock the worse they are, but these things dont tend to be bought for their nimbleness through the twisties. the boot should just to say move when it is released and the struts do make it quite heavy to open ( and they quite often do go aswell)

as far as i know the disp 2 button is only used if the car has the optional extra of radar assist cruise control fitted.( mostly fitted in america on 2001 models) not 100% sure if thats what its for though

enjoy your 430
