Thinking Of Leaving Lexus

IS300

Looking for a new car replacement and really like the look of the new Jaguar XF.

Nothing really in the current Lexus range that ticks all the boxes (apart from the IS-F) for me, so looking at the Jag.

Anyone else made the same move?

To me the XF looks far better than the GS, and by the way you are only able to buy 'new' GS460 hybrids now, nothing else (like GS300's etc), so my local dealership tells me.

Going on comments from here, I didn't realise the Jag was soo unreliable?

Is the XF that unreliable? I really like it, and it would be something I'd consider when changing as well........it's a shame if it is as it's a lovely car!

Jag's usually do really well on reliability surveys though, has something gone wrong?

Wow, ok best to avoid then, didn't realise they had such serious problems. And now Jag is owned by Tata isn't it? So I can't imagine things getting much better anytime soon.......

Real shame as I love the XF-R :(

Tried to get a test drive when they first appeared. The only one at the franchise belonged to the General Manager who I knew, but couldn't have a test drive because it had gone back for a major problem. Tried again two months later, and it had broken down, Same again another month later. 4th time lucky I thought - but he had got shot of it: "Lovely car when it worked but it usually didn't". Maybe they are sorted now and this was just a lemon or had early teething problems; but I have got used to Lexus who generally sell their cars after the teething problems are sorted. The Jag certainly looks very good, but for an IS300 owner, the ISF has to be a serious contender with better performance and much the same fuel consumption as the IS300.
