On the way back from church my daughter saw a black IS200 in the Oxford Road carpark of the West Reading Tesco. The driver was having a chat with a couple of policemen.

What was it? Not indicating? There are so many people doing that these days and it can be so dangerous (eg the muppet I nearly hit on the M4 on Friday). It can't have been speeding on the Oxford Road. You wouldn't get up enough speed before getting stuck behind a bus. Did they let you off for having a cool car?

Indicating is not a legal requirement and as such i dont think a copper would ever stop you to tell you it was. Lights are not a legal requirement on your car so indicating cant be.

I recently drove a 1934 Austin which had semi fore type indicators people beeped at me all day for not indicating when i clearly was they didnt understand the semifore type indicators, Either that or they clearly wasnt looking for them. I dont think people would understand hand signals either.

I hate it when people don't indicate. It's the most lazy thing you can do and suggests a total disregard for other folk and displays ignorance and bad attitude. I would fine people for this. How hard is it to flip a pinky to show intention.

Another thing, if it's not foggy, turn your f...... fog lights off!

i perfectly agree with all the posts above. If police want to stop you they will, wether its legal or not is another story. I own and have owned, in my time many old escorts. I got stopped all the time in them, funny thing is i havnt been stopped once in the Lexus. Its about what you drive not how you drive it. I dont drive the Lexus any diffrently from how i drive any other of my cars but have never been stopped in the Lexus.

I once got stopped after a little moon lighting work ( decorating for a pal) i was on my way home at about 2am. I was in my escort the copper turned round to come after me. It was back in the day before all your records were on computer. I explained i had been moonlighting, and they couldnt work out why i had been out workign at 2 am thats why its called moon lighting i explained. Any way bottom line was the copper almost i repeat almost admitted i was stopped mearly on the basis of the car i was in "its the type of car that doesnt usually have all the correct paper work" is what she explained. The copper was also slightly peed of that i didnt stop when she flashed her headlights at me. I simply explained to her that flashing headlights didnt mean stop. i didnt even stop when she put the blue lights on either i simply moved over and waved her through she followed me for about half a mile before i eventually stopped (at my house). If its a patrol car then you dotn have to stop. As far as i know only a traffic car with a """STOP POLICE""" sign can pull you over anyway, any other type of blue light means get out of my way its a warnign to say they are there not stop.

i recently had this expalined to me after this happened to me http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12...n-999-pass.html

Just read that article and that is stupid.

You were in the right, you taking it to court??

I used to get pulled every two mins in my light modifid car but now i drive a high modded one i dont,

tell see if i get pulled in the lex.

The only few times i been pulled coppers have gone you have a high modded car and not the normal crap on the car a young lad has. (e.g full bucket seat/ hanesses mono wheels)

the other time i was pulled was because i went of the lights and wheels broke trackion, which i then put in season and pulled away. Seen police behind me and did not think much about it till pulled into petrol station and started pulling fuel in a copper walked over to me.

I explained i was running a532 (summer tires) on light weight race rims and it was wet and there must been oil or something on the road his reply was well pull away in 3rd.
