You Say Ls460, I Say Ls....

Recommended Posts

Just reading this article in Autocar re the new Audi A8:

http://www.autocar.co.uk/CarReviews/FirstD...Quattro/247265/

Interesting he says LS460 yet only says S-Class, 7-Series and Jaguar XJ for the other rivals. Why not say the LS600, or really just call it an LS much the same as he did with the other three.

So when someone says what car do you own do say just Lexus, Lexus LS, Lexus LS400 etc?

Autocar is witten by a load of sixth-formers who dislike Lexus:

They rate the Maserati as a better luxury car than the 460 - absurd.

They think the LS 460 comes in a LWB version - it doesn't and never did.

They haven't yet realised that the LS460 (all versions) is being phased out - Lexus may even have made the last one already.

Some time ago, on the cover of Autocar, it said "LS430 Road Test". This would have been for the Mk 2 version of the 430. Nothing was inside, nor did I ever read an explanation.

Only ever read one copy of Autocar, funnily enough on the way to pick up the 430.

Got to the bit where they wanted everybody to drive at 40MPH in the 60 limit, and immediately wanted to go and set fire to it.

Needless to say will never buy such an absurd excuse for a magazine again.

The only decent writer they had was James May, and they fired him.
