Upgrade To Ml And Navi

Hi all,

I might be able to get my hands on a ML dvd player plus the Display part and I'm not sure if I can just switch it with the old one. I believe that the signal from the ML head unit is digital and transmitted so to the amplifier. It would require for me to also get the ML amp, an the cable that goes to it.

Does anyone know how exactly should this upgrade be done and what parts are required? I just need the Navi working with the Pioneer stock speakers if possible.

The ML sytem has a different amplifier.

The ordinary preamp music signal is transmitted through four wires in full range (Front and Rear doors).

But when you play a 5.1 DVD from the ML unit the signal is transmitted digitaly through a seperate cable that ends in an extra blue harness on the amp.

So you will need also that single wire that transmits the digital audio.

Have in mind that the speaker outputs and remote wire locations are different from stock to ML amp.

These two PDF's should help you see the layouts of the head unit and amp.
