Lexus exhausts are legendary for lasting a long time. My '98 GS has done 146,000 miles and no exhaust parts replaced yet.

The heat shields (one on either side) are vulnerable but they can be removed without disadvantage as they were on mine. They prevent the heat from being reflected downwards so if you get them taken off, be careful not to park on long dry grass!

tyres first, the police don't like bald tyres so keep an eye on them and you need to be safe, the brakes next but they will probably be ok for a bit and wear steadily, then sort exhaust on cheap from breakers yard a blowing exhaust etc shouldn't be that critical, some heat sheild can be removed without too much problems but depends on the design and what it's protecting

a blowing exhaust etc shouldn't be that critical,

A blowing exhaust can be lethal both to car occupants and others. If the fumes enter the car it could lead to you losing consciousness and possibly killing yourself and others.

it cant be blowing or it wouldnt of passed the mot-signs of deteriorating !!! sounds like external rust to me-the mot place is looking for business.

TYRES !! get a tyre check from anather place and if worn replace asap although again they cant be that bad or it wouldnt of passed the mot

this is only my opinion-please get advice from a qualified mechanic in person

Agreed but if it deteriorates to the point when it does blow it is potentially lethal. I was merely pointing out that a blowing exhaust can be critical......John99treg had stated that a blowing exhaust was not critical.
