The outside temperature gauge on my 1998 LS400 is showing the wrong temperature, how can i fix this ? Can anybody help?

Hi

I believe there is an outside temperature sensor attached to the front bumper reinforcement bar.

This may be faulty

Mine has been showing the wrong temperature for about 6 months now. I'm thinking of moving to Australia.

I may go as well.

Thought i'd bump this thread.

My recent acquisition (mkIV 98 LS400) has just started showing the wrong outside temperature in the cabin, it's in the 20's according to the forecast and showing 1-4 deg on the gauge.

Did you find the temp sensor? and if you did change it did it fix the problem?

Australia sounds good, but having spent 20 years there just recently I'm not ready to move back so will have to fix the car :hehe:

Bump from me too.

I'm having similar symptoms with my outside temperature showing summer temps (25) when it is definitely much cooler.

Did anybody work out how to solve this?

Get a replacement sensor it is located down behind the front bumper fitted to the reinforcement  on the drivers side, below the headlight to one side of the number plate

Paul frost will have one .
