Hi All. I have a 07 GS 450h just been for its first MOT, It just passed the handbrake/ footbrake test. Can any body tell me how efficient the parking brake is on the GS models ?. The 450h is is a lot heavier than the 300,so does this make it less effective?

Just back from Lexus. They say the parking brake shoes are worn out,and need replacing at a cost.

The car is still under warr, 30000 miles on the clock, how can this be ??

Just read this is from MARCH but nay mind!!

That seems a bit extreme to need the shoes replacing at 30k! Unless someone has been driving it with the parking brake on or they haven't been adjusted properly when serviced! I'm not 100% sure but I should of thought the parking brake should be adjusted (via a slack adjuster somewhere) on some services!

My GS450h seems all right but you do have to push it quite a long way for it to hold the car on a slope! It should be a matter of adjustment really!

Cheers

Ben
