Double Locking?

Okay I was sitting in my car the other day. I decided to lock the doors whilst i was in it using the key. Even though i did this i could still manually open the door lock from the inside? surely this isnt right? can anybody help?

What year is your car? If it's post 2001 you need to press the lock button twice to activate the deadlocks.

1stly I think it is a good thing to have, if you or someone got locked in the car, in the emergency they wanted to get out, you should be able to.

2ndly, if you double lucked you car while you are sitting in the car, the alarm takes 30 secs to set, after the 30secs, if you open the door or move too much in the car, the alarm will go off.

3rdly, this will apply to 2001 onwards.

it also means that on leaving the car if u lock it by the remote and press the lock button twice a few seconds after each other,that if someone tried to break into ur car they woould be unable to open the doors,hope this helps.
