As a new LS400 (1998) owner I was wondering if one should use fuel additives (fuel injection) from time to time. I use to add them to the tank of my old Scorpio but I can't say it made much difference.

i use them injector cleaner and fuel system cleaner every 6 months, just for the peace of mind. forte is the brand you should use, you can only get them from internet as they are 'trade use' only :winky:

FORTE is what we use butto be honest I don't use them. Your better bet is get the fuel injections clean with an ultrasonic bath. There are firms that do this.

The difffernce is massive if the injectors haven't been changed every or over ten years. You'll find the horsepower will return and better fuel and pick up on ovet taking. You only have to check out the TOP GEAR scene when they rolling road a renault and find that just changing the injectors restored all the power to factory spec on the rolling road.

no it was replaceing the Cracked inlet manifold that got the power back, air leaking/unmetered air doens't tend to work too well on these modern engines.

All a waste fo money, if your injectors are blocked then your fuel filter isn't doing a very good job, if they do need cleaning (i have 225k and 260bhp...) the the ultrasonic bath (weren't these in star trek?) will do the job, the thigns you can put in your fuel tank aren't very good, bear in mind how good a solvant petrol is it should dissovle most thigns anyway.
