Grinding Noise On Brakes When Stopping Quickly

Hi,

I've visually inspected the brake pads and they looked alright (report from the service 4mths ago also states ok, & car has only done 2300miles after that). I get some grinding noise on the brakes when I need to stop the car quickly (before it comes to a halt). A very soft squeaking sound has also been heard when driving (foot off the brake pedal) with the windows down. Could anyone comment please? They've done the outstanding rear brake caliper bushes (remaining recall)4 months ago. Car already out of warrantee, as it is a 06 reg.

I think i may have a similar problem, only happens sometimes when i come to a stop quickly and its the final couple of feet, more of a peddal feel than a noise.

Any ideas?
