Lost Items In Rear Seat Hole Retrievable?

Recommended Posts

On the rear seats of cars, the seat belt buckle is threaded through a small hole in the seat. If something small from your pocket falls into the hole such as loose coins, small key, etc is it possible to retrieve them without cutting into the seat? The seat is firmly fixed into the car chassis - you can't lift it up - it's not a removable big cushion on your sofa!?

Any bright ideas?

Not sure if this has ever been asked here or anywhere!?

i may be wrong as I haven't done it myself, but I am pretty sure that the bottom cushion of the rear seats just lifts off. I think its just a couple of clips that hold it down.

I'm sure someone will be along to correct me if I am wrong!

I just "fished" around with my fingers and retrieved quite a few pounds coins when I bought my used IS200

OF COS,

there are 2 clips at the front, lift the seat up form the edge,, that it.

I found 5 pounds under that last time, I only wanted to do a quick clean.

Just tug hard at the front of the rear bench in the middle of each seat and they pop out of clips, job done

is this method for _all_ cars - not just IS200 (or Toyota/Lexus)?

This is for the is200, may be similar for others, some just lift out others have tabs to pull/slide etc
