Spare Keys Not Working

Recommended Posts

Brought my Lexus is200 SE (2000) a couple of weeks ago.

Was given 3 sets of keys with it, the main one works and i left the other 2 at home, the mrs today used the spare one, but noticed that none of them worked, the red light doesn't work but the keys do open the door, but then the alarm would go off?

How do i fix this, is it a simple Battery replacement?

You need a CR1616 battery- get one off eBay. Undo the screw at the back of the key and pop the cover off. Then take the transponder out. There are a further 3 screws on the transponder itself, undo these as well and pop the cover off. Here you will see the Battery. Take the old Battery and re-fit all the items you removed.

Dancing around the car doesn't make you a bad man though!!!!!!
