Rear Window Buggered

my rear drivers window has decided to stop working, anyone know of any known faults/fixes, also whilst im at it, does the drivers window only have auto on the down and not up, and double also is it right that the any window on an open door will not move until the door is closed.

does the window work on either button ?

could be a loose connection/faulty switch or a faulty motor, have you checked the wiring as it enters the door for any abrasion/nicks

have you taken the door panel off and checked for voltage

auto should be up and down

windows should work if door is open or shut

should have said barry,, the window just falls,, ie i can move it up with my hand and then it falls back,, looking at the mechanism it looks like the cable is not pulling and keeping it taught (shut)

Is it a mk1 GS?

Auto only works on drivers window and only down.... crap really.

All windows move up/down on mine regardless of door being open/closed. Mine is a '96.
