Grating Noise

Hi i have just joined this site as i am now the proud owner of a 1995 lexus gs300

the problem i have is a grating noise coming from the front drivers side brake/wheel i have been told that it could be solved by having the break pads cleaned could anyone tell me if this is correct if not what could be the cause and the solution many thanks

On the is200 there is a little spring/wire that clips into the pads, that keeps the pads away from the disc's ,ie stops the the pads rubbing against the disc's, it may be missing, as i have one missing and it's making this noise.

thanks for letting me know i think its deffo a break prob i will try get it looked at over the weekend
