Pioneer Avh3200Bt - Installed Bu Wont Let Me Play Videos

Recommended Posts

Hello,

Thanks to all the advice I have received and read I decided to have a go at fitting my stereo today.

In total it took about 4/5 hours including stoppage for some food.

It was quite difficult but I got there in the end - or so I thought.

I got the Bluetooth working, the Ipod works, radio fine. Then I thought I'll test the video/dvd function.

First of all I got some music videos off a website - they were mp4 format. I burnt them to a disc quickly and put them in the stereo. They wouldn't play. I then tried a dozen different things, changed to formats to xvid, put them on a sd card. Put the mp4 onto my ipod and tried playing but still the same problem.

I keep getting the message "ATTENTION - Viewing of front seat video source whilst driving is strictly prohibited".

I thought to myself, yeah oh it would be "dangerous" to watch a film, etc whilst driving but I wasn't driving. The engine was not even running. The handbrake was on, etc.

After tinkering a bit I was able to play the file and could hear the audio but it won't let me see the video.

Has anyone had this problem before? Do you know how to fix it?

I have attached an image that shows the fault.

Many Thanks,

Dan

Ok, when fitting dvd headunits into car's you have to fool it into thinking that the handbrake is on so that the dvd/video will play as it thinks your parked up!!

Re-read the install manual and there will be a wire that say that this must be wired to the handbrake!

So just wire it to an earth fixing that should sort it out.

Oh, ok I think there was a green cable spare and I had no idea what to do with it so I just left it. Stereo worked so I thought it would be ok.

I guess I have to wire this cable to the 'earth''. Would that just be the chassis of the car? If not then what have other people done?

Many thanks

Dan

Not really, the earth from the back of the headunit will be just as good.....
