hi guys and girls, right i owned a is200 a few years back, it was the best car i've driven but it didn't have any power, i then sold it and tried a sting of cars including impreza's, legacy twin turbo, mitsubishi gto twin turbo etc they have loads of power but its just not the same to drive!

so my question is has anyone or know anyone that has ever put a twin turbo engine in an is200, i think lexus did do this in america or japan but there very rare! i just want to know the costs involved from start to finish and any problems i could run in to, thanks

I assume you mean the 2JZ?

Its been done a few times, but needs deep deep pockets and a lot of time.

yea the 2jz, sorry i wasn't very clear was i! thats what i thought. How else could i make the is200 faster? are the turbo and supercharger kits worth looking at? what power could the 1g-fe handle in normal day to day use?

Well there not been a huge amount of turbo 1gfe's (less than 15) on standard internals and they have varying success.

Some get 250 some get 300+ its all in the mapping

Look for an IS300, same as the IS200 but with a 3.0 engine just under 220 bhp as standard. If you still wanted more then you could turbo it and easily get over 300 bhp if you have the money.
