Oil Change

Hi,

I am going to change the engine oil on my 1999 LS400 Series IV (135k miles).

I am going to put 5W 40 Fully Synthetic in (I haven't decided on the brand - I am open to suggestions)

Does this sound OK? Does anyone have any other suggestions?

Just looking for some reassurance really!

Not sure about the VVTI engine but my spec is 5W30 fully synthetic Havoline from Morrissons at £16.95/5 litres plus genuine filter

I have a MK IV with the VVTI and that's what I use. Same here too, genuine oil filter.

I've just checked (just to make sure) and it's 5.6 including the filter or 5.3 without. Also, I can confirm that the book suggets that we use 5/30.

Mobil 1 for me - from Opie Oils - 6 litres (leaving some for top up)
