Check Cruise System Warning

My radar cruise control failed yesterday with a "Check Cruise System" warning. It was a royal PITA as I use it daily. After I got home I restarted the engine and the warning went away (I was able to arm the cruise control system). I'm hoping it's not a terminal problem but, if it is, the car has a full Lexus warranty so it'll be another thing that needs fixing. Has anyone else has the aforementioned warning appear on their cars?

Not sure where I read it but seem to remember something about adverse weather conditions can upset the system as the detector is mounted in an exposed position behind the front grill,may be worth checking for debris or other obstructions.

^ Will do at the weekend. I did drive in torrential rain yesterday morning but it was just fairly cold in the evening when the fault occured. However, there is a specific fault message saying something like, "Clean Radar Sensor" for debris I believe.

Not sure if you had your problem recur mate but I had the same message come up on my 250 with Dynamic Cruise Control. Also affected the pre-crash system (PCS) as it uses the same radar behind the front logo. Got both Check Cruise and Check PCS message come on. Stealership looked at it and the millimetre wave radar knackered and relieved me of £710 to get new one fitted!!

Hopefully yours was just a glitch but looking on Internet it seems that on the 250 models with Dynamic Cruise the radar will go subsume point! hope not in your case.
