Hi, has anyone else found YouTube impossible to use lately ?. Every vid I try to view buffers after about 6seconds an thereafter is impossible to watch.

I've deleted all cookies and emptied the cache and closed all pages and still it refuses to play.

Are you sure it's not your broadband?

Could be as I recently moved and have setup new broadband,

It's averaging 350 Kbps up and download but I have no idea what that means. It's supposed to be a 20 Meg connection but I know know one really gets the maximum they pay for.

Do these figures look ok or is it really slow. Got the figures from a test my broadband page, I'm also 2 1/2 miles from the exchange.

Try it on here http://www.speedtest.net/ and report back what you get, ( I get 6.3 Mb/ps ) which is OK for telephone line.

This don't look good. 0.27 d/load and 0.34 u/load. I'm with sky on phone line too, so i'm guessing I need to get in touch with them.

Indeed you do, normally on a phone line you should get 5 - 7 mbps. I had the same problem when I switched from cable and it took about 2 months to get it sorted. Eventually a BT engineer came out and checked the wiring to the main phone socket, replaced that for an ADSL one and even went and remade the connections in the box down the road. If he hadn't found a problem it would have cost me a £140.

Have you got filters on all phone sockets as that can be another cause of problems.

Ok. We have 3 phones in the house but only one is connected to the phone line, the other two are wireless. The connected phone does have a filter.

I've moved the router around all 3 sockets we have and it works best in the socket nearest the junction box at front of house, in room above so that's probably the 1st socket inline.

The improved speed is now averaging 0.42mbps . A small improvement but not enough.

I'm going to call them and report back if they can help.

I have pretty poor internet speeds. But for YouTuve I find that if you select a lower quality setting than standard then it helps.
