I have a slow leak 2LBS per week. Took it to a tyre place and they couldn't fault the tyre but said there was corrosion on the beeding which they cleaned up. It still leaks. Could I use Tyre Weld or similar as a permanent cure?

Hi yes you could use a sealer ,but if the bead is still leaking this means it has not been cleaned up properly . Go back to the tyre place and tell them to clean all the corrosion off the bead properly .This is quite a common problem on alloy wheels and when I have had a problem the wheel has been cleaned with a rotary wire brush with no further problems

tyre weld will only seal holes on the width of the tread and not seal the bead.....

as above a stiff wire wheel will remove 99% of the corrosion then apply a small amount of bead sealer job done..
