New Coil Pack From Ecp But Wont Start?

My friends car (IS200 on a 01 Y) has the engine management light on with the TRC light flashing. Had a mechanic look at it and it brought up an issue with cylinder 5, he told me it was the coil pack. After doing some searching, and everyone else's post i went to Euro Car Parts and bought a new coil. I changed all the plugs and put the new coil in and reset the ECU by removing the 2 fuses, it starts but then dies as if the immobiliser kicks in. Repeated the 2 fuse process and still the same. I put the old coil back and it started fine, am i doing something wrong or am i right in thinking it could be the new coil that is faulty?
