Right, just got my first price for a 40k, 4year service, with filters, g/box oil and brake fluid change, for £472.19. For IS250, how does that sound, bloody expensive if you ask me, but is that the going rate?.

If the car is 5 years old then £199 but not sure if this inclides the IS250.

Or this one for £250 which should cover the IS250

I have just booked my 40k service for my IS220d at http://www.fixautocardiff.co.uk/, I have asked for the Premium Service using Lexus parts and to have my front brakes pads replaced. £300 inc vat.

this makes me laugh , how can a main dealer have different tarifs for a service. surely they have a set service plan for, 20k,30k,40k,60k etc. with set parts etc, yes maybe the labour rates may fluctuate slightly ,dependant on the aerea. but what they do service wise should be the same at whatever lexus dealer you go to in the uk.

Just had mines done this morning.

Basic service. Oil, fuel and air filter done. Anti-freeze top-up. 6ltr of oil. Engine flush (I sat and revved the car for him) and a bottle of Wynnes injector cleaner.

£140 all-in.

None to shabby I thought.

Main dealers can GTF :winky:

  • 1 month later...

Just had two quotes come in for my 40,000 service.

Lexus Park Lane (London): £562 (lol)

Lexus Twickenham: £480. Or £610 for service package that covers 40,000 and 50,000.

Both prices are high, but as I've just bought the car I wanted to get a dealer to check it out then take it to a local garage from then on. The service package does seem reasonable though, works out at about £400 for the full service and £200 for the intermediate at 50,000. Collected and delivered etc.

Waiting for a further quote from Lexus edgeware and a local garage using lexus parts.

Any thoughts?

Well, i have booked mine in, im supplying my own oil(Mobil 1), and it's taken the price down to £353 from £449 with brake fluid change, nearly £100 for 6.5l of oil, thats why i get my own, as i will have 3.5l left for top ups or to go towards the next service.

Good idea about the oil. Might do the same.

Update on mine - Even though the gold membership area says Twickenham offer a 10% discount - I've just been on the phone with them and they said that they do not. They only offer discount to those who bought the car from that dealership. Disappointing as I just registered for gold membership. I even mentioned the contact name - perhaps the dealership management has changed around and the reference to it was old. With the discount it would have totalled at £545 for a service pack for 40,000 & 50,000 - which I would have gone for. Sadly I won't be as I feel a bit hard done by, so most likely i'll be taking it to a local garage.

Decided to go with Lexus Edgeware road as they offered the 10% discount. £460 for full 40,000 service and courtesy car. Think that's the best i'm going to get around the London area!

Fingers crossed I don't need my breaks doing also - If I do though i'll upgrade to EBC and hope for longer living disks.

If the brakes do need doing, it's not that hard to d.i.y, and you will save a small fortune in labour, thats where most of the money goes on the service, oh, and the oil, almost £100, did i mention that. :D

Hi

My 4 year service cost £400 at the local dealer. (That seemed reasonable - however a similar service for a Diesel Mazda 6 was £250 - not an auto) They didnt have to change the brake discs but they said it would be needed at the next service.

Dont want to know what they'll charge to do the discs later this year

I dont think I'd trust anyone else with the car though - so I'll just have to take the hit..
