Day Time Running Lights

Recommended Posts

Hi Everyone,

I am going to get some top quality LED daytime running lights fitted to my 2003 MK2 Lexus RX. I have been looking at the Philips 4 (£100) and 8 (£200) type (not sure if anyone has seen these or not). If I cannot find a set that fits into the existing two blank inlet grills at the bottom of the front bumper, then I will not bother, as I do not want my car looking like I have just bought a cheapo pair from Halfords and bolted them onto the bumper !! Before I measure up and commit to purchasing these, I was wondering if anyone has done something similar and if so, what type etc. As you can see from the prices I have mentioned, I do not want to skimp on the quality and how they actually look when turned on (i.e. they should match the existing headlights in colour etc). Cheers. Bobby.

Are the two "blank" inlet grills filled in or open, if open I would advise strictly against fitting anything in the hole, they are there more than likely to direct air to the front brake area.

That's a very good point and is pretty obvious as well, I should have known that (Doh !!). Thanks for the advice.

Do you really want DRLs? It sounds a lot of hassle and money for something you'll never see.

They are not for me to see, but for others to see. I honestly think that good quality DRL's actually do what they say they do and let other drivers AND pedestrians see your car in daylight hours. So I will continue my quest to see what I can find for my car. Cheers.

Drive with side lights on. Just trying to save you money and to help not to reduce the value of your car when it comes time to sell.
