Cant See Timing Mark

Recommended Posts

I am about to do my timing on my is200 1g-fe.. the problem is I can't see the painted mark on the CRANKSHAFT TIMING GEAR.

I am hoping to see a picture of this gear to see how much teeth the painted mark is from the key groove.

Is there a DIY on timing for the is200?

hi when you take the top timing cover off align the camshaft sprocket timing marks up then look at the bottom pulley there will be a small cut out in the pulley this should align with the timing marks on the front cover just put a little white paint in the cut out

- there is no mark on the gear itself. there are two marks on the pulley. you will have to allign the 1st mark with the cambelt cover at 0.

when you done this then mark the gear yourself with the engine block. there will be a line on the block. make sure the cam gear marks are set also.

hope my explaining helps
