Bit Of Metal Behind The Bumper

That was floating around where presumably the foremost plastic noise panel (I haven't looked under the car yet) meets the front bumper. Can anyone identify it? It's about a metre long and made from lightweight metal. It looks to me as though it takes a bit of strain off the plastic bumper, or something like that. I presume it was left in there when the front of the car was disassembled to change the cambelt.

Looks like the lower front retainer to me  but not 100%

Have a look here

that was my thought as well. The bit of metal through which the under tray bolts along the leading edge.

More worrying though......Why arent you wearing any trousers? Im guessing those in the picture are yours?

No. If it what o think it is, it sits inside the lower edge of the bumper. There should be someting in each of the holes for the bolts to thread into.

This, as i say, is fixed inside(on top of) the lower edge of the front bumper and the tray bolts through the lower edge of the bumper into that bar.

They are more like machine screws than bolts to be far.

Hope that helps.

PS. where are your trousers?

EDIT. im thinking that there should be some plastic inserts for the machine screws to bolt in to.
