Electric Aerila Adjustement Query

The electric aerial on my MK4 has decide not to fully retract when I switch the radio off. I have searched through all topics for electric aerial for advice, but most topicsjust discuss how to replace the mast. I believe my mast is ok just needs adjusting so it goes down fully. Is there a way of adjusting the mast, or is it a case of following the mast removal procedure, then reinsert the same mast?? All help gratefully received.

Yes that was my first attempt to fix it, and that didn't work.

I would try removal of the mast and re-insertion. It could be that the end of the cord inside the mast has snapped and is causing an obstruction, so you may need a new mast anyway.
