Advice On Spare Wheel For Lpg Ls400

Hi All,

For those, like me, with an LPG conversion with the tank in place of the spare wheel, what do you do for a space wheel? Is there such thing as a space saver spare for LS400's?? I recently bought mine without any spare at all.

I put tyre sealant in all the tyres, supposed to take care of nail punctures, leaky rimms. You can get it on that well known auction site

I put my spare wheel into a nice cover the LPG installers gave me and just leave it in the boot. Never been short of space.

Ride on puncture sealant works a treat, balances your wheels at the same time, I carry a sticky cord type repair kit aswell.

I have no LPG fitted but a skinny space saver spare.It is also the correct size as the car came into the UK with 17" after market wheels when I think 16" were standard,looks awful but did use it once for a 3 mile drive to the tyre depot after a puncture.

If you want one you sometime see them on fleabay.

Tempting fate here I know, but I haven't had a puncture in 25 years.

So, why do I carry a great heavy wheel about everywhere? Nice new alloy, near-new tyre....

Think Im joining the sealant can brigade very soon.

So? Do you pre-empt the flat by using the stuff FIRST? Or wait until puncture?

You get the valve at about 4 o clock and unscrew the valve core, squirt in the gloop, then valve back in and re-inflate.

There seems to be less nails and bits of rusty horseshoes on the roads as there was when I were a lad, or perhaps there's so many more cars the odds of getting a puncture are less???

I know I'm OLD!! But horse-shoes etc!!!??? Though there IS a riding stable not too far away......
