none really save your money for visual mods....

drilled and grooved disks=out brake people

suspension kit=faster round corners.

You can still do induction, exhaust, lighten things up, handling mods galore!

You could chuck a K&N filter at it, some iridium spark plugs & maybe a high flow back box. You might net 5-10hp but it should make it rev a bit more freely & use a little less gas. I wouldn't bother with much more than that with the 1GFE. If you can't make it go like a sports car you can at least make it handle like one. Lower it, strut braces & stiffer rear sway bars should keep you happy on the B roads for a while.

Having a look at the original induction on the car and it looks good enough, so why put a long 63mm pipe on and filter. does it really need it?

TDI say nothing much gained even with expensive induction kit as standard one is pretty good, maybe change to k & n at next service. Only real way is to find a good exhaust manifold with sports cat and HKS Silent. Give about an extra 20 brake but be a bit more responsive, but manifolds as rare as rocking horse dooo!
