Can folks tell me what the two sensors are for in top of the dash on the offside corner as it meets the windscreen. One looks like an infra-red sensor, which I guess is for the remote central locking, the other looks like a clear diffused lens similar to interior light lenses about 1/2" x 1/2" what's that for as I didn't think the early cars had any auto light on sensors or such like.

Regards

Iain

Sounds like the light sensor for dimming the dash lights at night

The doomed one is definately the auto light switching sensor (conlight) the other as Toxo suggests may be a sensor for the AC as it looks like a light dependant resistor but I can't find any reference to it in parts.
