Immobiliser

Me again, still on the lookout for purchasing....

Taking a look at a Mk2 1993 very soon, trying to get insurance quotes but some sites, including the cheapest one yet, want very specific immobiliser details. Trawling through old posts it's as clear as mud, can't work out if there is a factory one fitted, and if so if it's approved...and so on.

Perhaps one of you could shed some light.

I had the same with my MKIV, all the insurance companies I spoke to insisted on a CAT 1 alarm / Imobiliser. Luckily, they all came back and said it's standard on the car. Seems a bit pointless insisting on it then if it's standard?

Not sure about the MK2, but I'm sure someone will be along soon that knows :)
