Replacement Cup Holder Surround For Is220D

Hi,

I am looking to replace the panel that surrounds the cup holder and hand brake of the centre console on my Lexus IS 220d 2007. Unfortunately I have damaged the top surface which has a silvery grey finish and Lexus don't sell the top panel separately even although the diagram shows it as seperate parts. You can only buy the whole cup holder unit from Lexus which is pretty expensive. Does anyone know of an autosalvage company which is currently breaking a Lexus IS220d that I can contact for this part? I have searched the net and sent off a few emails, but as yet I've had no joy.

Hi and welcome to the LOC,

You are indeed correct in that the console parts are available seperately and the dealer is being lazy to look the actual part up when they can sell you a nice expensive complete one.

I have looked at the exploded diagram but cannot make out which bit you need,if you could post a photograph it would help me provide the part number which you can then quote to the dealer.

Thanks for your reply. No problem, I'll post a photo tonight.

I currently have an exploded diagram which shows the part number 58805C, but this seems to be for the surround panel, cup holder and a clip. I just need the surround (I think). I say 'I think' as the diagram is quite confusing because it's actually the insert that I need to replace that fits inside the surround panel (not sure if it comes with the panel). The diagram doesn't seem to show any insert. It's a silver 'C' shape insert that fits around the lid of the cup holder and is a colour match with the ashtray lid and cup holder lid. Unfortunately I have discoloured the surface of the insert when I wiped it with an alcohol wipe as I was attaching a sticky pad for the remote of a Parrot kit (not clever!).
