Fly Wheel

I know that its possible to change the original (expensive)fly wheel to a single mass. Is it straight forward "swap" or do any mods have to be done?

Assuming that the reason for duel mass is to smooth out vibration etc, then fitting a single mass (although cheaper) is not such a good idea...or am I wrong??

I don't think any modifications are needed to change to a single mass flywheel, the main reasons for doing so are cost (the biggest reason I would think) and also that theres more options with single mass, such as lightweight variants.

That sounds good but i'm thinking that there must be a down side to this ie possible loss of "smoothness" or vibration. Has anyone actualy done this conversion and can verify the pro's and cons?

the cons for a lightened fly is you will need to use more throttle the weight gives momentom the lighter it is the less it has..
