Fob Not Working

Recommended Posts

Hi All - New member.

Today i went to get into my 2007 is200d and the key fob wouldn't open the door. I ended up taking the manual key out of the fob entering manually and setting the alarm off. I phoned Lexus Bolton who were very helpful and told me that this is a common fault and somehow? the key had fallen out of its radio codes (confused). They told me to hold the fob next to the start button and depress the clutch, then it would start. I then needed to drive it and the key fob should reset itself!!! - it didnt and I have spent all afternoon messing around with it.

Has anyone else suffered this ridiculous ritual. I dont know how this has happened - does anyone know ? - I locked the car as normal last night and then this happened

think your cars a is220 as the is200 had stopped being made..also they never came in diesel..

the only way to recode the key is follow a procedure which lexus will have to do unless some one on here knows it...if the car wont start the key will need to be programed with the lexus computer

ormi - you are right - my car is a is220d (I certainly fill it with diesel anyway!!!)- getting my twos and zeros mixed up in my confusion.

It happened again today and i phoned Lexus - they said bring the car in and they would change the Battery in my fob - I can do that myself so I got 3 batteries (one for spare) and put new batteries in both of my fobs. Lexus told me that this would solve the problem and it seems to be OK now (fingers crossed for the next time I get in it). Lexus said it can happen if anyone has got anything near to me like a remote garage door etc which can interfer withthe radio signal!!!
