Central Locking Not Working On My Is200

[1998 Lexus GS300]

Hi,

When i use the Drivers door key, It only unlocks/locks that door.

BUT - the central locking button on the inside of the door (near the mirror controls) works fine. When pressed, it locks/unlockes all doors.

So basically, just the KEY is not working.

I opened the door and cant see anything obvious. No loose wires etc.

Any ideas??

That sounds correct to me. The central locking will only open and close all doors if you use the lock/unlock button on the key fob.

OK so thats good news! Now iv ordered a new key fob from eBay for 3.49!

The prev owner has messed up the old keyfob and i cant even open it coz the screws been messed up. So i'll wait for the new fob, then just change the things from old to new. I'l have to just break the outer plastic of the old key fob!

OK so thats good news! Now iv ordered a new key fob from ebay for 3.49!

Not that simple as you will need to get the blade on the new shell casing laser cut to match your old blade pattern and may also need to change the batteries (CR1616) in the transponder
