Thanks Mark,

I've PMd you, this is exactly what I need to show the insurance company.

Cheers,

Steve

I have now took an alternative route regarding the LS repairs by buying as an interim measure a GS300.

I haggled the price and it will now have a fresh MOT on collection and 6 months road tax.

Having carefully checked it over it is overall sound, everything works as it should and the full service history and past MOTs confirm the mileage as correct, I also did a HPI check which came back clear.

All it needs is a good clean and polish and an interior valet to bring it up to standard.

This will keep me mobile and therefore give me more time to get the LS repaired and once it is I will then resell the GS.

Looks a very nice car indeed. How does it drive compared to the Ls?

The ride quality is about the same as both cars are running low profile 17" tyres, so quite firm but the steering on the GS seems to have a better feel and precision than the LS. This could however be down to different tyres/pressures.

Tidy looking GS you now have Steve :)

Andy

Cheers Andy, I will still be needing that headlight unit when I begin the Celsior repairs,I could just by a pair of UK spec lights from a breaker and then fit both but this will cost nearly as much as one new one with the prices breakers charge,(unless they come from Benfur) and I do like the JDM versions better

Until I get my car back I am holding back on ordering anything as I want to get the bumper and wing off first in case of more unseen damage behind, I already know about the metal panel behind the headlight being bent but whether it will straighten sufficiently or need replacment I'm not sure.If a new one is required then we are into cutting and welding costs.

The engineers report also stated the front panel needed replacing but all I could see was a small indentation in the top bar and also the front crossmember! which I haven't even looked at yet.

I also want to get the 6 months remaining road tax refunded before the end of the month, I would have left it on for a month during repairs but as I will be transfering my insurance to the GS it has to be surrended and the car SORNed.
