Any Tried And Tested Methods Of Getting Rid Of Scratches In The Paintw

Recommended Posts

I've just purchased a black IS250C SE-L. It's an ex-demonstrator with all the toys and I'm loving it.

My only gripe is all the scratches in the paintwork. Its obvious that these have been put there whilst being cleaned. Is there a lasting way to get rid of them. I recently polished the car with a wax that contained a colour but this only had a minimal effect and was soon 'washed' off.

Has anyone got any tried and tested tips ?

Are you talking about swirl marks and not proper scratches through the paint? If so Autoglym Super Resin Polish is quite a good one if applying by hand, and there are more hardcore polishes for use with machine polishers which will get stunning results.

Other lazier option would just be to get a detailer to work his magic, they can offer stunning results - here's an example of the sort of end result they can achieve.....LINK

Thanks you Parthiban, that really a very comprehensive link. Much appreciated.

In my instance I have had a word with the dealership I purchased the car through and they will sort out the scratches at the next service.

Thanks again.
