Newbie Needs Advice On What To Buy! Rx400H Or Rx300

Hi All

Would really appreciate some advice from you well-oiled Lexus owners! I am looking to buy a used RX300 or RX400h.

I am currently driving a Mini Cooper S. Most of the mileage will be around town (Kids Taxi!) with the odd long trip to France and a few usual family outing trips.

I am torn between buying a high mileage (100k) 400h from an independent or a 300 (with 60k) from a main dealer. I reckon my mieage will be about 10,000 p/a. They are pretty much the same price

What do you think? lower fuel costs but with potentially more servicing and parts etc or higher fuel costs with the main dealer security?

Any advice/suggestions will be much appreciated!

If you are worried about the support from an independent vendor, why not wait until a Lexus dealer has an RX400 that you can afford, preferably with lower mileage?

RZ300, 16-22mpg (sometimes better on a motorway if you are slow, RX400 28-34. Averages 20 and 30 respectively about sums it up.
