Evening chaps need a bit of advice. I'm thinking about getting a strut brace for the IS, seen one on eBay for 45 quid delivered looks okay but not sure if it too cheap.

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350469819405&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT

Or am i better off getting a more expensive one say around the 100 pound mark??

Thanks

looks ok to fella looks like a cusco copy just make sure it covers the air box on the right hand side if not file out a little bit and put some rubber under it or you will feel the engine vibration in the inside of the car :winky: neil

unless your cars lowered and stiff you wont notice any diff as the standard set up is too soft to make the strut towers flex...

Ahhh, okay thanks for that. Dont think I'll bother. Bought a TRD boot lip spoiler instead........... at least I think it is a TRD one  .

Wow thats cheap :) & good looking but what is the quality and finish like anyone ? if its good and serves same purpose i rather that than stupid amount + tax from ones in japan, also it says uk based company, previously i got warned off ones from asia/china as quality isnt good at all !

I got the same one yr looking at. And I'm pleased with it. Car handles much better

What is the quality and finish like on these? i did look at some front ultra racing (not sure if they fit the 1G-FE or not) but was told quality is not all that, scratches on paint work, misaligned holes so cant fit unless modified etc...despite heavily advertised and used as sponsors on drift/racing cars in asia or malaysia where it comes from.

Well I've had no probs with my strut bar. I can feel a difference in the cornering and the steering is lighter. My strut bar was delivered with the towers on the wrong sides. Took bar apart and swooped the towers over. Perfect fit and is prob 1-2 inches off the air box. no modification needed. For the money you can't go wrong!!!!

Hey mate is this the one from 2fast2cool on eBay?

I fitted mine tonight, only thing i found was i had to undo the 3 10mm nuts on the fuse box to lift it out of the way to fit and then tighten down the 13mm domed nuts on the towers that pass through the strut itself :)

I think strut braces are a worthy mod whether your car is standard or lowered. Just look at Corolla GT's they came from factory with a strut brace right from the original AE82 through to the AE111. I've got HKS Kansai front & rear in mine, wouldn't be without them.
